Meet the Trainers

Meet Jillian Rich

Head Trainer

Hi! My name is Jillian Rich. I am a dog trainer with a passion for animals and improving the relationship between owners and their beloved pets and live in beautiful Bloomington, Indiana. I studied dog training at the Tom Rose School and graduated at the top of my class. I am experienced in competition and pet obedience, tracking, tricks, competition and narcotics scent work, agility, and behavior modification training.  I do not discriminate against dogs I train based on their breed, age, or size. I am willing and able to train dogs that exhibit fear, dog and human aggression. As well as dogs that just need to learn the basics. I will work with you and your dog to meet your needs.

I am also a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen and AKC Trick Dog Evaluator.

I serve as the Executive Director of Mannered Mutts Rescue, Inc, a Bloomington based 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue seeking to help homeless animals get the love and training they need to get adopted into amazing forever homes.

Meet Sydnie Dunn

Hi! My name is Sydnie Dunn. I love dogs! I am devoted to helping owners and their pets learn to live in harmony with one another. Lack of structure and balance in the home between owner and dog can contribute to canine anxiety, aggression, and destruction. I want to help change this by showing you how to start training off on the right foot. Mutual respect and consistency with rules and expectations can have a phenomenal effect on how our dogs perceive us.

I am primarily self taught. I have also been shadowing Jillian (Head Trainer) for quite some time and feel confident in my abilities to help you and your canine companions achieve all of your training goals.

I serve as the President on the board for Mannered Mutts Rescue, Inc, a Bloomington based 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue seeking to help homeless animals get the love and training they need to get adopted into amazing forever homes.

Meet Kristen Perrus

Hi! My name is Kristen Perrus. I've been working with dogs for the last four years, growing a passion to help dogs both inside and outside of the home. I strive to advocate for muzzle positivity and responsible dog ownership. My biggest interest in training is behavior modification, rehabilitation and helping owners create a bridge from human to canine in peaceful cohabitation.

I serve as the Vice President of Mannered Mutts Rescue, a Bloomington based 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue seeking to help homeless animals get the love and training they need to get adopted into amazing forever homes. I am also co-owner and general manager of Scout’s Honor, a dog daycare and boarding facility that provides services in Bloomington, IN and will be helping educate the staff on proper animal behavior and structured play.

I also serve as a videographer for Mannered Mutts Training and create all the awesome videos you see on the training page!

Meet Melanie Martin

Assitant Trainer

Hi! I’m Melanie Martin. I’m passionate about animals and I love working with dogs. Working with spicy dogs that are a little rough around the edges and need extra help are my favorite. I have four husky’s of my own that required behavior modification techniques to help them become the amazing family members they are today. I want to help more dogs find inner peace and become the best dogs they can be.

I foster dogs in my free time. I gained a lot of experience working with dogs this way. It’s very rewarding being a part of the process that helps them transform from unsure homeless animals to happy pets in their perfect forever homes. Education and advocacy for dogs is something I strive to pass on to each person I meet. I love expanding my knowledge to help owners and pets and I’m thrilled to be a part of a team that allows me to do that.

Meet Mary Devitt

Assitant Trainer

Hi! My name is Mary Devitt. Dogs and dog behavior have always been a huge passion of mine. Proper training provides dog with the healthy and structured environment they crave. Educating people on how to properly communicate with their dog and how to implement that into training is important to me,

I graduated with merit at Conifer Canine Dog Trainer College out of Spencer, IN and am continuing to grow my knowledge here at Mannered Mutts LLC shadowing Jillian, the head trainer.

I have two bully babies of my own that I've dedicated a lot of my time to training and making sure they have the structure they deserve. I love working with dogs of all ages and breeds and love seeing them blossom into well-behaved, Mannered Mutts. 😉 For me, seeing dogs' progress is my favorite and most rewarding aspect of training.
